This week in our "enjoy it on the comfort of your
couch" section we bring you a movie that is bit more better known that the
previous ones simply because of its director, David Fincher. This is our review
of 'THE GAME'.
By Staff
Tycoon Nicholas Van Orton, played by Michael Douglas, gets a
birthday gift from his younger brother Conrad, played by Sean Penn. The gift is
a Free Pass to enjoy the services of a new company called CRS. After going
through physical and psychological tests and be disqualified to receive such
services by the company, strange happenings begin to occur in Nicholas' life.
Car and on-foot chases, situations filled with danger are
now at ever corner of his life. Is it a game, life itself, a recently fired
colleague's revenge? Who is behind everything? Or, could it be all in Nicholas'
mind?
He will have to get to bottom of things to find out the
truth about CRS.
Opinion:
Paranoia. Mystery. Deceiving. Betrayal. The director invites
the audience to feel this and many other emotions for an unbelievable 100
minutes.
The screenplay by John Brancato and Michael Ferris is
absolutely amazing!
Douglas' and Penn's interpretations are both superb; they
fill the screen with desperation and intrigue. The latter is onscreen in a much
smaller role, but when he plays his part he elevates the film's level of
suspense considerably.
This is one of those movies that not only do we recommend
you rent, but purchase it and add it to your collection. You won't regret it.
