Review: RUNNER RUNNER

Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake join a redheaded babe in a gambler-vs-FBI flick. This is our express review of 'RUNNER RUNNER'.

By Staff
This film tells us about 'Richie Furst', played by Timberlake, a brilliant Princeton University alumni who runs an underground gambling business to pay for his tuition.
When he finds himself in deeper financial troubles than usual, he bets his entire lifesavings on an Internet poker site where he is cheated and loses everything. Upset about it, he travels to Costa Rica to request a refund from the site's owner 'Ivan Black', played by Ben Affleck. He not only gives him his money back but offers him a job where he can become rich and forget about his financial issues in a short time as well. Its obvious to the audience that Black has some secrets about his business that make him a guy not to be trusted but Richie, forgetting that he is a smart man, ignores it all and takes his offer.

In small words: A brilliant university student. A man with a business to become a rich man fast. Secrets left and right. FBI agents. A stunning babe. Sound familiar? If you thought '21' you'd be right. This film is so, SO familiar to that one. And unfortunately for both, they are interesting stories but films that just don't work.

The truth is that if you don't watch this movie you won't be missing out on anything cool. It does have some good things here and there but the overall flick is just average.
