The genius behind one of the most recognized companies in
the world, Steve Jobs, died on October 2011. His life certainly deserved to be
portrayed in film. This is our review of 'jOBS'.

Were you expecting the same we were from this picture? We were
thinking it was going to show us the creations, the persona, the impulse and
the huge hurdles and struggles Jobs had to endure throughout his life.
In reality the film delivered just that. You get to see some
aspects of his professional life and the birth and eventual astronomical growth
of his company, Apple. Unfortunately, that is all the film has to offer.
It is simply a timeline, no more, no less. A Biography
channel special might have provided us with more details and insight
perspectives.
We do learn about the lives of Steve Job, Woz (that not so
well known colleague who practically invented the first Apple computer), the
investors, the engineers and everybody else who had something to do with the
company's development, fall and eventual re-launch, but what fails almost
entirely is the feeling behind it all. The sequences that portray the difficult
times they all went through are either erroneously directed or, maybe, horribly
edited.
Ashton Kutcher's performance in the main roll isn't that
bad, in facts it is daring in a way that it shows us a side of Jobs' persona
that few are aware of. In other words, it does not sugarcoat his egocentric
ways, the beyond-the-limits push or his lack of interest to be more in contact
with his human side.
The film does what it should but we felt that the man behind
the iPod, the iPhone, the personal computers and the coolest technological devices
in the world deserved a much better cinematic effort.
