Remember those action sequences, the comedy and special
effects from 'The Avengers'? Well it's director, Joss Whedon, is back with a
VERY different film. This is our review of 'MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING'.
By Staff
Before anything else- DO NOT expect to see anything even
similar to 'The Avengers'. This is a black & white film; with zero special
effects and with performers you might be familiar with or see for the very
first time. All you Whedonesque fans will immediately recognize multiple actors
from previous Whedon-made films and TV shows.
The story is based off a William Shakespeare play, set in
our present time and with Mòliere's touch of sarcasm and wit.
What's it about? Easy, it is a romantic comedy with whacky
details, misfortunes, situations that would never happen in our day and age,
and characters taken out of an overdramatic novel and put in comedic
situations.
The result, for those interested in the premise, is more
than entertaining and interesting.
The misunderstandings and the medieval-love situations fill
the screen with very memorable moments. The performances from the players are
practically error-free and Whedon's direction is plastered all over the
picture.
Warning- This is not a movie for the average audience. In
fact, as you begin to watch it you may feel it isn't worth sitting through it,
but if you are a bit patient with it and like movies that offer fresh and
unconventional material, then this is a film you must watch.
We cannot deny it had some minor details here and there but
the end result is much more that what we were expecting.
