The scientist who invented the spray-on shoes is back for a
whole new adventure filled with food and meatballs. This is the review for
'CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2'.

You might notice how I am doing this review for the site by
myself without assistance from our staff unlike the previous ones. There's a
simple reason for it: When I watched the first part of this story I was
fascinated with the visuals, the characters and the amazing level of creativity
contained within, thus I assigned myself to do this review. Yes, I took
advantage of being the creator of the site; feel free to comment your
complaints below.
For months I waited to see the sequel and today the time was
upon me. What did I think of the picture? Oh my, what a disappointment...
The story kicks off just a few minutes after the end of the
first movie. Flint's childhood idol, Chester V., arrives at the island to offer
him a job in this company "LIVE Corp."; his lifelong dream will
finally become a reality.
Along with his best friends, father and new girlfriend, he
moves to another town while LIVE Corp. cleans the mess left by all the food on
the island.
A short time after, Chester V. goes to Flint and asks him
for some help since the cleaning efforts aren't going as planned because his
add-water-and-turn-into-food machine is not only creating food now but also
life.
Flint and company will have to go back to the island to fix
everything and stop his machine once and for all.
Analysis:
The visuals are still awesome. The 3D offers just enough for
kids and grownups alike. The characters continue being interesting and funny.
The creativity level on the other hand is almost completely
gone: The food creatures know no gray areas. They are either cool and creative
or ridiculous and unimaginative.
Just one example of what I'm talking about is the
"Tacrocodile". A "crocodile + taco" with legs and tail made
of peppers. Another one would be how a lot, A LOT of the creatures are just
vegetables or fruits with little black dot-eyes and nothing more.
Either very disappointing or just a lack of effort in
creating them.
To make matters worse the story isn't very interesting and
if it weren’t for the many funny moments, the film would feel long.
