To figure out an intelligent film it takes time and capacity
for appreciation to details. All "G.I. JOE: RETALIATION" hopes is
that you have enough patience to stay on your seat before the end credits.
In 2009, director Stephen Sommers gave us a typical summer
flick- full of action sequences, special effects and actors/actresses with
model-like bodies. It wasn't great but it kept you entertained and showed you
incredibly cool technology gadgets and doohickeys (just like HASBRO does with
its toys).
For obvious reasons the producers asked for a sequel. It was
supposed to come out during the 2012 summer but they pushed it back in order to
make a 3D adaptation and thus get a bigger box-office take. Not even that was
enough to make this movie an entertaining one.
Solving the Sudoku on the newspaper is more fun than
watching this disaster that calls itself a movie. Boring, without imagination,
without the technology characteristic of G.I. Joe, with flat characters and
overused dialogue.
Its true, one shouldn't expect this movie to be incredible
or awards worthy, but they could have at least put some cool looking visuals or
something. It is also worth mentioning that the 3D transfer DID NOT WORK.
We won't take much of your time, it's this simple - 2/10.
Skip This Movie.
