You may have missed this little French film. We almost did.
It was part of a Festival and it had good word-of-mouth so our local theaters
gave it a run of it's own. This is our review of 'POPULAIRE'.
Two films. One single story. One, dealing with the huge
responsibility of being true to its original material, the other, trying to be
original in its own way without overshadowing it predecessor. We'd like to invite
you to enjoy our review of 'MÄN SOM HATAR KVINNOR' and 'THE GIRL WITH THE
DRAGON TATTOO'.
In our hometown of Guadalajara, Mexico, we have the
"FICG" (International Cinema Festival in Guadalajara) and this year
Sweden was invited to be the special guest country. A 2012 Academy Award
Nominee was the film that opened the festivities. Here is our review of that
movie- "KON TIKI".
Our recommendation for this week's "enjoy it on the
comfort of your couch" movie is the second film of talented Spanish
director- Alejandro Amenábar: "OPEN YOUR EYES".
Seeing Audrey Tautou on a movie poster gets your attention.
She is a nice, easygoing and, for the most part, takes on good roles;
"DELICACY" is no exception.
Seeing "Academy Awards 'Best Foreign Film' and 'Best
Picture' Nominee" practically guarantees people's interest... as well as
winning on at least the foreign film category.
