Sofia Coppola surprised almost everyone with her first few
films; with 'Lost in Translation' (a personal favorite) she won what looked to
be the first of many Academy Awards. She brings us her most recent work in 'THE
BLING RING'.

For many men, this is simply known as 'Emma Watson's newest
flick'.
The story tells us about a group of teens who recently
broke-in to the homes of many A-listers. The screenplay was based off of Nancy
Jo Sales' Vanity Fair article.
The plot is as simple as what we just described- California
Teens dare to break into the homes of famous people, take from their belongings
and "live the fabulous lifestyle" without a care in the world.
The film has one sequence that accurately depicts the lack
of interest or seriousness that the teens felt while doing the break-ins.
The rest of the film is a total mess. The only thing that
this talented filmmaker was able to do right was telling us the facts, plain
and simple.
No real interest, emotionless, with performances that left
much to be desired and with an Emma Watson that did the best she could playing
a real-life person with beyond-embarrassing ideals, this film fails at every
corner.
We didn't have high hopes for this film and it didn't even
matter anyway, it still disappointed us. It just isn't worth watching.
Second candidate for worst film of 2013.
2/10 STAY AWAY!
