Review: Lincoln

Twelve years in production. A screenplay that went through tons of drafts until the story flowed appropriately. A massive built-up. How did the movie turned out? Just as Spielberg wanted it to.

"LINCOLN" is the type of film that most people will feel as if they just sat through a three-hour history lesson of something they already knew.
Yes, we all know what happened with the 13th Amendment.
Yes, we all know what happened to Lincoln a short time after.
No, most of us don't know the players that stood side to side with him.
No, most of us don't know the man behind the President.
That is the story Steven Spielberg wanted to tell us from the very beginning: The 'why's' and the 'who's' behind one of the most important moments in United States history.

What will you see in on-screen? There are no war sequences. There is no over-dramatic sub-plot. Instead you'll see people debating, insulting each other and doing everything they can in order to make history happen. And yes, they will talk, talk, and then talk some more. Unfortunately this makes the movie a bit hard to sit through, but don't get us wrong, it is interesting stuff to watch, just a little too much.

'Lincoln' will be seen as a film that didn't care about getting huge blockbuster numbers. It's a good thing too, because we get a film that tells us about a moment, about people and about a man who was way more than what most of us thought he was.

Extra note- Daniel Day Lewis WILL get his third Academy Award for his performance of Abraham Lincoln. He was Perfect!

Great movie for everyone who enjoys a bit of cinema in every history lesson learned. 9/10 Good Popcorn Fun.
