Quentin Tarantino's new film "DJANGO UNCHAINED". Enough
said.
Three years after his WWII tale, 'Inglorious Basterds',
Tarantino gets back to the Director's chair to give us his PoV on the Wild West
with the story of 'Django', played by Jamie Foxx (Ray, The Soloist), a slave
freed by a man calling himself Dr. Schultz. They soon set of into an adventure
that will unite and have them trust in each other until they are an unstoppable
team. Team of what, exactly? Sorry, we wish we could give more details but this
is a Tarantino film and part of its charm is the surprise-effect.
Joining Jamie Foxx is an endless list of actors well known
to Tarantino plus Leonardo DiCaprio doing, what many are calling, the
performance of a lifetime. We don't know if it was that good, but he definitely
did a great job (we particularly liked his performance in 'Inception' better,
but to each his own).
As all Tarantino fans can imagine the film is ultra-violent,
fun, interesting and with incredibly creative dialogue. The one thing missing
was (and sorry to all who think this is a spoiler) that Tarantinesque climax. The ending is what you'd expect, but not what
you'd have wanted.
Good movie typical of Tarantino, worthy of adding to your
collection when it comes out on sale, but short from being his best material
yet.
8.8/10 Good Popcorn Fun.
