Woody Allen is one of Hollywood's most constant
writer/directors of our time. He makes movies regularly and most of them are
pretty good. This is our review of his most recent work, 'BLUE JASMINE'.
By Staff
The story tells us about 'Jasmine', played brilliantly by
Cate Blanchett, a woman going through a terrible time in her life; the
government took everything she and her husband had. Being used to a life of
luxury will make things even tougher for her as she moves to San Francisco lo
live with her sister who she hasn't seen in a long time.
The movie is a typical Woody Allen one; strange situations
for and with colorful characters capable of dealing with anything thrown their
way.
This isn't exactly his best material but his way of telling
a story is noticeable throughout.
The best part of the film, by far, is Cate Blanchett's
performance of the main character. She is nominated for an Academy Award and
has already won a few others including the SAG Award, which is the best
indicator for the Oscars.
This is an entertaining flick that gives you just about
everything you'd expect without being memorable.
7/10 WORTH THE TICKET PRICE.
