We know there are some of you who dislike Valentine's Day
for various reasons. In our blog we kinda like the idea of a day when men
behave like gentlemen and women forget that we are jerks the rest of the year.
So we bring you the review of a rom/com film you can enjoy in the comforts of
your couch:
WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING.
This 1995 movie tells the story of 'Lucy' (Sandra Bullock)
an introverted, nice and kind girl. She works collecting subway tokens; a job
that requires little effort and allows her to see the man of her dreams
everyday- a gentleman who always wears a suit and gets up from his seat so a
woman doesn't have to stand. Since 'Lucy isn't a bit talker, she has never
spoken a word to the man who takes her breath away.
Until one day, around Christmas time, the gentleman smiles
at her and says "Merry Christmas". Oh surprise, surprise!
Unfortunately for 'Lucy' that thing that happens to many when our crush says
something to us does- she can't say a single coherent word. (A "Scumbag
brain" moment if you would).
Fate, however, does her a small favor and interrupts her
mundane life by causing an accident, helping 'Lucy' meet his beloved gentleman.
When they arrive at the hospital, situations mix-ups and misunderstandings turn
Lucy from a complete stranger, into the secret girlfriend and future wife of
the man.
Yes, this means it is a "mix-ups and
misunderstandings" film, but one that will entertain you and will make you
cheer-on our heroine so she can get her very deserved happy ending.
8/10 Worth the Ticket Price, or in this case the rental fee.
Happy Valentine's Day everybody!
