Review: FROZEN

The makers of 'TANGLED' are back with their unique and cool animated style. This is our review of 'FROZEN'.

By Edgar Perez (Editor in Chief)
First of all and so there is no misunderstandings- I am a HUGE fan of 'Tangled'. It's a movie that entertained me to no end; I loved its style and the little changes made on the original story of 'Rapunzel'. When I first heard the makers of such film were developing 'FROZEN' I was immediately attracted to the project. When I saw the character designs I thought to myself "it isn't something I haven't seen but it still looks pretty darn cool". After the months-long wait is behind me, what do I think? OH MY, WHAT A DISILLUSIONMENT.

I am ALMOST sure I will be one of the very few people that will leave the theater wanting more. Don't get me wrong, the film has plenty of interesting things going on and worth the ticket price, but- the story is terrible!

In MANY ways the story is quite familiar to that of 'TANGLED'- a young woman with super-powers, isolated from the world and deceived by someone who claimed to love her. The way it is told is where the problem lies. It is a very slow film, boring and with very, VERY few details for members of the audience older than eight.

The technical aspects however, are gorgeous. The cinematography, the character animation, the styles, the aesthetics, the designs, the costumes and, specially, the 3D have a lot to offer; in my opinion the cinematography could very well go up for an Oscar in the Academy Awards; it was amazing!

How I wish I could get into more details but like I mentioned before, this picture left me hoping for so much more and to be honest I am left without a lot of interesting things to say about it in this review. I would continue saying the same things, really. Instead of taking more of your precious time, I invite you to leave your comments at the bottom of the page and tell me what did I miss or didn't appreciate enough.

Denisse Ayala, Editor in Chief and Co-Founder of Front Seat Review, had a much different take on the movie. She gives it a 7 out of 10. See what I mean when I say I might be the only one that disliked or wasn't satisfied with the flick?
At the end of the day, nobody wanted to do this review, and it will be stuck with the grade I give it:

4.5/10 Discount Theater or Rental.
