Review: DON JON

An actor or actress getting behind the camera to direct is a common thing in Hollywood these days. After working with Christopher Nolan, Joseph Gordon-Levitt thought it might be a good idea to have his directorial debut. He did so with the film 'DON JON'. This is our review of his film.

We've been sharing links to upcoming movie trailers in our facebook page. Some of you get excited, some get flat out disappointed. Being completely honest, we don't watch many trailers but in this case it turned out to be a good thing we skipped it.

The picture tells us about 'Jon', played by Gordon-Levitt, a young man who not only likes pornographic movies, he is addicted to them. He goes from woman to woman without starting a serious relationship with any of them. When he meets 'Barbara', played by Scarlett Johansson, Jon turns his life around and will do anything to keep his newfound love.

This movie tells us all of men's out-loud secrets and how they are capable of doing anything for a woman; not to mention everything a woman can make a man do when and about whatever she feels like.

The characterizations by the main players are quite interesting and well done. The growth in Jon's character is by far the best part of the film and it is all thanks to Gordon-Levitt not only acting and directing but also writing the screenplay.

You will laugh; you'll be a little surprised and maybe even think something like- that same thing happened to me once. Finally, we saw real potential for this young actor behind the camera. We are sure to watch his next flick whenever it comes out.

8.9/10 Good Popcorn Fun!
