Its time to let your imagination expand, have some fun and
see a world where everything is unique and possibilities are endless. This is
our review of 'THE LEGO MOVIE'.

Forget about growing up for a few minutes. Leave all your
worries behind. Take a seat for an adventure full of color and fun.
The story begins with 'Vitruvius', a wise character who
tries to stop 'Lord Business' from obtaining the most lethal weapon ever found
in the LEGO world: glue (or crazy glue, we saw it dubbed in Spanish, so we
don't really know how they called it in English).
Vitruvius fails in his attempt but warns Lord Business about
the 'Master Builder' prophecy that tells about a man, or woman, who will find
the "resistance piece" and stop him to bring peace to the world once
and for all.
We then meet 'Emmet', a building builder- a character out of
the bunch, really- who lives just like the 'President Business' tells all the
citizens of LEGO world to do- follow the rules and live in a
"perfect" world.
When Emmet finds a cute girl named 'Wyldstyle', destiny will
take him to find the resistance piece. He is immediately mistaken for the
'Master Builder' the prophecy talked about.
Things will get tough as he will soon prove to be
unimaginative nor creative, something that characterized all 'Master Builders'
from previous worlds and times. Now, the future of all will fall on the master
builders', or Emmet's, ability to stop Lord Business from using glue on the
world.
Analysis and opinion:
Lets get to the point- this movie is for animation fans and
kids. We (at FSR) are adults that enjoy animation and some of us even behave
like children when we like something a little too much. This movie was right up
our alley.
Yes, there are a few things that could've been better like
the speed in which the master builders construct some things (sometime you
don't even know what they are creating but you kind of forget since the end
results are awesome) o the lack of more worlds shown. Its worth mentioning that
where is plenty, PLENTY of stuff to see in that sense, we simply would've like
to have seen more, that's all.
The animation is unbelievable. We saw it in 2D and before
reaching 20 minutes we had already regretted not expending the extra cash for
3D. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE.
Last but not least, the story is simple, a bit repetitive,
but more than anything- SUPER FUN! You'll definitely have a few good laughs.
The creativity level and connection with the original
material (toys) is incredible. They thought about even the smallest details to
make the film original, attached to its original material, but taking it to the
next level- limitless imagination.
A movie that is really worth watching even if you aren't
LEGO fans. Batman is on it, for pete's sake, that should be enough for many of
you.
9/10 GOOD POPCORN FUN.
