Every now and then there are movies that want to show you a
different side of a story you thought you knew everything about. HANSEL &
GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS is one of them.
The ideal for these potentially interesting projects would
be to invest more time, money and effort to do them; or just keep 'MTv Films'
from producing them.
After seeing Jeremy Renner in 'Avengers' and 'The hurt
locker', one could imagine his future would be full of movies that take
themselves seriously, or at the very least be entertaining. 'The Bourne legacy'
and 'Hansel & Gretel' proved that is not the case. In this new twist to the Grimm Bros' classic tale, the only
good thing is there won't be any sequels and it will stay as a failed attempt
at something different.
The story is too predictable, tedious, stupid and
(unforgivably) without identity. It wants to make you laugh, scare you, thrill
you, and EVERYTHING fails. Well not exactly, it does something good- it makes
you wish the witches win in the end.
With all due respect, the only thing worth looking in this
movie is 'Gretel's' super-tight costume. Nothing more.
This is the first nominee for worst movie of 2013.
1/10 SKIP IT.
