How many can say that when you thought of
Ben Affleck didn't do it with flops like- Daredevil, Gigli or Phantoms? ¿Who
would've imagined this middle-of-the-pack actor would become a first class
director?
In 2007 his film 'Gone baby gone' was a superb movie amongst the few
that saw it. Those of you who didn't probably didn't even know the movie was in
theaters. FYI, you missed out on a very interesting story and a pair of
extraordinary performances. Many believe 'The Town', his second film on the
director's chair deserved a lot more attention came awards season. Now, in his
third time at the helm, he proves it was neither accident nor coincidence; it
is a fact that as a Director he has a very promising future. 'Argo' is a film
that takes itself seriously, with adequate and zero over-performances by the
players. The editing is superb, which leads to an intense and very interesting
narrative throughout. You can sense a Hollywoodesque ending, but not so much
that it takes away from the immense impact created by the first 90 minutes or
so. If this film is ignored by the 'Oscars' come March, I am going to be very
interested in hearing the Academy's reasons as to why that is. Excellent film-
10/10 Can't Miss This Movie! WOW. (Extra note- with many movies to come like
'Lincoln' 'The Hobbit', etc. I can say that, at least to this point, this is
the year's best film).
